A Thriving Practice

In 1992, Dr. David Helfman began his solo practice in Smyrna, Georgia as Village Podiatry Group. Through the years the practice has grown to now encompass 23 physicians in 19 clinic locations with more than 100 support staff. In 2008, the name was changed to Village Podiatry Centers to more accurately reflect the multiple locations serving the metro Atlanta area.

Leaders in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery
Each of our doctors has ten or more years of dedicated medical and surgical training. All are board certified or board eligible. Each is an active surgical instructor for podiatric residents. Among our staff are national lecturers, medical authors and international surgeons. A number are recognized authorities on foot and ankle surgical procedures. In fact, our staff includes the primary editors and contributors to the podiatric profession’s standard reference text, McGlamry’s Comprehensive Textbook of Foot and Ankle Surgery.

State-of-the-art Technology

Village Podiatry Centers is the leader in podiatric technology. Each of our offices has on-site X-ray services and vascular studies to speed diagnosis and enhance our treatment capabilities. We are affiliated with two, state-of- the-art foot and ankle surgery centers and numerous Atlanta hospitals. Our patients have access to high quality imaging services through our affiliation with the only high-field Extremity MRI Center in Atlanta.

With more than 90,000 patient visits annually, we are proud of the fact that the majority of our new patients are from existing patients’ referrals and physician referrals.
